Kirsten De Smet finished her studies at the Koninklijke Balletschool of Antwerp and obtained her bachelor certificate at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen, in contemporary dance. From 2013 on, she is taking the specific dance teaching course at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen.
Her teachers were, among others, Damien Chalet (Eastman compagnie – Sidi Larbi), Michèle Swennen, Filip Van Huffel, Stefan Baier, Cruz De Mata, Agostina D'Allesandro, Chris De Feyter, Julie Anne Stanzak( Tanztheater Wuppertal of Pina Bausch), Sherley Essenboom( Jiri Kylian) , Douglas Becker ( Forsythe).
She danced in choreographies of Sagi Gross, Min Hee Bervoets, Laurent Flament, Isabelle Beernaert, Audrey Pascal, Geneviève Van Quaquebeke, Marc Vanrunxt…
She danced “Venn” : a collaboration between Iris Bouche and Sidi Larbi Chercaoui.
As a teacher, she works at dansstudio arabesque and R.U. Famous and during the “summer program” of Kon. Balletschool Antwerpen (youth section).
